1/01/08

HALLANDALE, FL –Organizers say over 7,000 people attended the Mardi Gras Casino and Gaming’s New Year’s Eve bash packing in as early as four in the afternoon and partying well into 2008. Guests were treated to a night full of food, fun, live entertainment and plenty of giveaways. Rouge @ 831 was definitely one of South Florida’s hottest New Year’s Eve party.

The Verranda morphed into Club Rouge where visitors were greeted with DJ Jungle Boy spinning a mix of oldies, retro, dance and party favorites as they danced and grooved alongside Go-Go dancers all night long. Show Girls welcomed party goers at the entrance and treated them with giveaways from Black New Year’s Eve hats, Red and Black feather boas, and garters. And Of course it wouldn’t be a true Mardi Gras party without the traditional beads. Every person on the casino floor was decked out in party favors.

Those who had reservations at the Bourbon Street Bistro feasted on Shrimp and Crab Cocktail, Surf & Turf, Lamb Shank, Blackened Grouper, fruit tarts and cake. For their enjoyment, Ruben Cuartas played Flamenco music as they dined. Out on the Pavillion, guests had a banquet buffet style that included Pork Tenderloin, Chicken Saltimbocca, Seafood Paella, Lamb Chops and several selections at the pasta, vegetable, salad and dessert stations. Their meal was accompanied with a Latin flare of Sol Calidad’s live performance on stage.

Other Musical acts that entertained guests throughout the casino included the Pennhouse Productions, Leo Casino on sax at the Bayou Ultra Lounge, drag shows by the Screaming Queens while the Bahamas Junkanoo of Miami delighted attendees with their tunes as they paraded in and out of the building.

One hour before ringing in the New Year, the crowd gathered trackside for the hottest giveaway of the night, a 2008 Cadillac Escalade. The Show Girls were on site enticing the crowd to the special prize while CEO and Vice President Dan Adkins conducted the drawing and Director of Business Administration Cathy Mavrak drew the winning name. The lucky winner was Robert R. from North Miami.

With Mardi Gras beads around their neck and party favors in hand from noisemakers and whistles, masses gathered trackside one more time minutes to midnight to welcome the New Year. They chanted the countdown to 2008 as a lit up Jester Head made it’s first annual drop. And to add to the festivities, they were showered with tons of confetti and red, black and gold balloons. It was a true New Year’s Eve celebration.
