Mardi Gras $5,000 Live Stand Up Comedy Challenge Featured Michele Balan

Comedian Michele Balan was part of the first ever Mardi Gras Stand Up Comedy Challenge. In August 2011 the Dawg House Sports Bar became Hollywood Florida's hottest stand up comedy club. Hundreds of comics will compete for a chance to win $5,000 and open for comedy legend Paula Poundstone at our world famous Hollywood Florida Racetrack on October 22nd 2011. It was the most prize money ever awarded at a South Florida Comedy event.

The five qualifying rounds were headlined by different stand up comics who will each perform Live Stand Up Comedy. In addition to Michele Balan our hilarious headliners included Miami native Sarge, Lady Roz G, Marion Grodin , Eddie Brill and Michele Balan. Bobby Collins performed his one of a kind live stand up comedy routine, which was THE Fort Lauderdale Stand Up Comedy Attraction of the Year.

Michele Balan is a classy comedian with attitude. Sometimes class has to move over for the attitude. Michele was one of the finalists on NBC's "Last Comic Standing," and she was "The Last Woman Comic Standing." She has appeared on The Joy Behar Show, Byron Allen's Comics Unleashed, and the OUTlaugh festival on MTV's LOGO.

Michele headlines all over the country at comedy clubs, corporate events, JCC's, country clubs, on cruises, and more! She is appropriate for all audiences...well, maybe not children's parties! Along with her stand-up, Michele writes for many other well-known comedians, and is a contributor to a variety of magazines. Voted one of the "Top 10 Comics" by Backstage Magazine. Often told she was naturally funny, the Brooklyn native left a high-paying executive position at a computer company to pursue comedy and she has been performing ever since. Michele is now bringing her massive talents to our Ft. Lauderdale Event.
