We Salute You! Throughout the entire month of May, Mardi Gras Casino would like to recognize the men and women in the Armed Forces who risk their lives every day to protect our freedom. On May 1st we will begin collecting items needed by our soldiers for care packages. When guests come out to Mardi Gras Casino they can donate four items on our list for the care packages and then receive $5 in bonus play once per day, all month long. There is also a “Points for Postage” promotion where guests can donate their Krewe Club points at the Players’ Club to the Treats for Soldiers organization who will pay for the shipment of care packages. For every 100 points donated, one dollar will be pledged to Treats for Soldiers, up to $5,000.

Our French Quarter Restaurant is known for the spectacular spread we serve up on each and every one of our buffets, and our Mother’s Day Buffet is no exception! Our Carving Station will feature Prime Rib of Beef Au Jus with creamy Horseradish, and Roasted Turkey with Pan Gravy and Cranberry Orange Chutney. Buffet Entrees will include Short Ribs of Beef with an Asian Mandarin Glaze, Grilled Salmon with a Dijon Mustard Emulsion, and Chicken Francaise with a Lemon Caper Sauce. Is your mouth watering yet? Well then wait until you taste our Roasted Garlic Smashed Potato, or our Lobster Macaroni and Cheese! Our Cold Station will feature our Farmer’s Market Salad Bar with assorted toppings and dressings, as well as Cold King Crab Claws and Poached Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce that will leave you licking your fingers!

Mardi Gras Casino’s “In The Biz” Texas Hold’em Tournament is a South Florida hit! The Big Easy Poker Room is hosting their 3rd“In The Biz” tournament on Monday, April 30th at 7pm. The buy-in is $90 and all of it goes into the prize pool. There is no house fee. Plus, tournament players can take advantage of the $1, $3, and $5 food specials, as well as FREE drinks!

This season Mardi Gras Casino is proud to announce the revival of a favorite stake race called The American Derby. The American Derby Stakes Race has been on hold for the last three years, but now will travel 1,500 miles south from its last home in Lincoln, Rhode Island at the Lincoln Greyhound Park to our very own world class Hollywood Greyhound Track and resume the tradition. The American Greyhound Derby was created in May 1949 at the Taunton Dog Track in Massachusetts by the Managing Director Mr. Joseph M. Linsey, and quickly gained momentum as a prestigious championship event. It was the first large purse stake race of the time, and was loosely modeled after its international counter-part, the Irish Derby.

Mardi Gras Casino is hosting our first ever Mardi Gong Show this April.The contest will take place Sunday, April 1st at 2:00pm in the Dawg House Sports Bar. To sign up for this contest, come to the Mardi Gras Casino Player’s Club any time during business hours, from now until March 29th.Contestants will compete in single or group acts with the aim of being both unique and absolutely awful. When the judges can take no more, the gong will be struck at 60 seconds into the act and the contestant escorted off the stage. Winners will be determined by a panel of judges when all contestants have finished being "gonged."The prizes are as follows: Mardi Gong Show 1st Place: The Highly Unusual Amount of $1004.12, Mardi Gong Show 2ndPlace: The Highly Unusual Amount of $400.12 and Mardi Gong Show 3rd Place: The Highly Unusual Amount of $40.12.

Florida’s Best Poker Room, The Big Easy, is hosting another In The Biz Texas Hold’em Tournament. The tournament is to be held on Monday, March 26th at 7pm at Mardi Gras Casino, Hollywood. The entire $90 buy in goes straight to the prize pool, the house doesn’t take anything. There will be great food and drink specials just for In The Biz players. All you need is your casino employee ID to register.

Calling all NCAA fans! Basketball bouncing is about to begin, and we know where you want to watch it! That’s why on March 13th we’ll begin showing the March Madness Tournament Games in the Dawg House Sports Bar on our second floor, culminating with the National Championship game on April 2nd. The Opening Game will be on March 13th, with games on Thursdays through Sundays for the following two weeks. The last week has games Saturday and Monday, and we’ve got big screens on which to show them all!

Mardi Gras Casino is celebrating Fat Tuesday, New Orleans style! On February 21st, there are so many fun things happening here it is hard to keep track. The Doubloons for Dollars promotion is every two hours from 1pm-9pm where the prize could be up to $3,000. The whole community is joining us for a parade and festival. The parade will be led by the King and Queen of Mardi who will be crowned at 5:30pm next to the Player’s Club. You could be the King or Queen of Mardi Gras if you check-in to Mardi Gras on Facebookwhile you’re visiting. On Mardi Gras day, for every 20 slot points you earn, you’ll receive one King & Queen entry.
